The NVR's September Gala featuring small and industrial tank engines. A highly enjoyable affair, congratulations to all involved in it. Proof that a large glamour engine is not necessary in providing a true steam railway atmosphere. 2 maroon Mark 1s formed the local train, with carmine/cream stock on the other. The freight ran from Wansford to Yarwell and was occasionally seen in the station. Star of the show the LNWR Coal Tank, running on former LNWR track, plus the N2 1744 which came home to Peterborough. Most of the action took place around Wansford station, with trains departing in both directions, plus the shunting moves.
